Finally an amazing quote! By living absurdly you will find yourself not living a pragmatic way of life. So, in correspondence with what Mr. Quarter here said I believe only by living your way will you be truely yourself.
i think that julio cortazar's quote means that we need to break out of the pragmatic things we do. by doing something we don't want we can most likely cancel it out of our lives forever. this is a better way to live.

that if you can only break out of something only if you are in it. it is Pragmatic that someone could be absurd and then break away from it. in order for me to break away from crazyness in to be crazt and i am.
Truer words were never spoken by a more insane man. A pragmatic frame of mind isn't such a bad thing to have, but this guy prefers to be different. What a rebel! I agree, the norm for most people is ridiculous by being entirely too serious, and apparently Julio feels that he can subvert this stereotype in himself by acting the opposite of serious. You go boy!
this quote is very pragmatic in the way that if people dont fallow the norm they then see what life is all about

If I'm right, then this guy is saying that if I live really weird, then I will stand out from this life of weirdness. That doesn't make sense, so I cannot give a pragmatic response. The quote is paradoxical.
it is pragmatic someone can get out of one these mind state but by acting absurtly you can't really think or do anything pragmatic.
