Frankly, I believe that this quote kind of sucks. It has some good deep points I guess you could say, but all in all it doesn't really strike my heart like it should. The first line might be the thing that did too. The world isn't respectable? That's conservative traditional hogwash spewing out of Mr. Santa's mouth. Who is he really to say what's respectable and what's not? Maybe if he stuck more to the point that he was getting at there would be some hope for him yet.
i think that quite franknly george santayana is correct in his statement. the world is tormented, confused, and deluded. the world and the people in it struggle to grow.
I have to be frank the world is truly a confusinkg place to be. You have to suffer to gain and because of that people become stronger but what happens when you get tired?

I loved this quote. He's right, the world and the human species as a whole really sucks. It's all of those things Santayana mentioned and more, but it's those small moments of joy and laughter that make life so beautiful and interesting. If everything was perfect life would be boring as all hell; instead you get all kinds of problems and challenges to work through. The good things in life are there so you won't get discouraged. Anyways, life is what you make it; you can either focus on all of the negative crap, or look at all of the good things and appreciate them for what they are, but no one can tell you which you should do.
the fact that the world is not all about beauty but it has pain and dark sides of it. the world is frank about things of this nature. but somewhere in this dark world there s some happyness in something in those aspects.
this statemnet is fraank of how the worlds is and people are in it. people are like this and the world is like this too. so that why i like this statement.
Santayana is referring to the world today very bluntly and frank. he is speaking of the reality of life.
i think what he is trying to say is that the world is broken in hte way the we mask what we truly feel by Falsifiing and actting out.. i alos deem that he is stating that we should become more frank
WHAT I BELIEVE HE IS TRYING TO SAY IS THAT WITH EVERY BAD MOMENT OR THING THERE IS A GOOD MOMENT OR THING. LIFE IS ALL ABOUT BALANCE, NOT ONE OR THE OTHER. ALSO, TO BE COMPLETELY FRANK MOST PEOPLE DWELL ON THE NEGATIVE THAN THE POSITIVE. WE NEED TO THINK MORE OF THE POSITIVE, THAT WAY WE AS HUMANS CAN BE HAPPY :)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely! Life is a double-edged sword, in a way. Like my old analogy about the coin! The coin by definition and logic has two sides. No matter what. These two sides may not get along, per se, but they are necessary. Life would not be life without imperfection.
p.s. To be perfectly frank, cassi3 is a cooki3.
the person who wrote this quote is frank. i like this quote alot.
