Read the following quote and respond by either analyzing what is being said or reflecting personally through your own experience. Please use the SAT Word of the Day in your answer.

Word of the Day:
Ingrate (IN grayt)-an ungrateful person
Examples:
It is a true ingrate who can accept favor after favor and never offer anything in return.
I bought Delores flowers for watching my cat while I was away—I didn’t want her to think I was an ingrate.

Quote:
If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace.
John Lennon

i think what john lennon is trying to say is that people are ingrates. instead of asking or trying to get what is most needed they go for what we don't need. if more people agreed we needed more peace then there would be more.

fact that people want new stuff instead of peace. people would rather have new things. it is not that they are ingrate because they the opposite. they are grateful that they could get a new tv and be happy. it demand peace means that they are not grateful for what they have.

Lennon you're a good musician, but you need to know when to shhhh.... Truthfully the television isn't a bad thing, it's not necessarily great for those who like to consume themselves in useless reality TV shows, but it does have its major benefits. I learned everything from TV like whow two spele nda ReDae. But Lennon does have a point even if he didn't pick the right consumer product. Instead of asking for the most bling or the blam, we should be asking for me freedom of the oppressed and peace and happiness.

I don't want to sound like an ingrate, but we are a society obsessed with material things. Lennon was saying that if there were as many people who wanted peace as badly as they want other things that aren't as important, we'd have something that actually has meaning. It reflects the shallow values of our society.

i think that what john lennon is trying to say is that why ask for this and that. open your eyes and ask for something that we all need like peace. not television sets and getting brained wash by the media and having people trying to look like movie stars and super models!

-go ahead be controlled, and follow the flow into the hole!-

...be and look yourself cause that is beautiful, don't wear clothes if you have too, the body is beautiful without tattoos!!

I BELIEVE THAT THIS QUOTE HIT’S THE MARK (LIKE A POKKA DOT). HE IS SAYING THAT MOST PEOPLE SAY THEY WANT SOMETHING BUT THEN WOULD RATHER ASK OR WORK FOR SOMETHING THEY WANT VERSUS SOMETHING THEY NEED. PLUS MANY PEOPLE ARE INGRATES BECAUSE THEY ASK FOR PEACE FROM SOCIETY BUT THEN NEVER RECEIVE TRUE PEACE NOR FREEDOM BECAUSE THEY DO NOTHING TO CONTRIBUTE TO IT. SOCIETY AS A WHOLE AS SEEN AS MORE OF A RECEIVER THAN A GIVER.
