i believe this is a great and simple quote. you can not make peace when your intentions are war. i agree with her completely.
It says what it means. The act of shaking hands requires them to be open. You can't be true friends and be enemies at the same time.
means that you cannot have peace while you are still fighting. that you have to have peace within yourself before you can have it with others.
i think this says something like you not going to shake hands if you dont want to. i think Wendell is right... you cant make peace when you dont want to

i think this means you can't get anywhere with a closed mind. you have to be open minded to be a better person. this also makes you more knowledgeable.
That's a lie I can shake hands all I want! If you're one who believes that violence isn't the answer like me, then would believe that shaking hands is a sign of peace, and a fist signifies hate and anger and violence. You can't mix these two properties.
