i think this quote means that not everything everyone does should have an answer. a cage brd sings because it's what it does to make itself happy. like the bird everyone should forget their sorrow and sing to make themselves happy.
Not everything has an answer and has to be answered. some things happen just because and that is how I feel about this certain qoute

Everyone always wants something to have a deeper meaning or a reason behind it. We're never satisfied just to know that something is great or special simply because it exists. It's good because it gives us this feeling like we should have a purpose, when in all reality we should just be happy to be alive.
Mrs Angelou's comment is extremely deep. it is so deep i am speechless. everything she speaks is a powerful form of symbolism representing something far greater than what is said.

Well. I can't exactly disagree with the quote, I mean everyone knows that a bird sings! Geez, I usually sing because I want to be annoying and I know my voice sounds bad.
i think maya angelou is thinking that sometimes in life you dont always have to know why something has to happen its just good that it happens
i once had a song to sing but like every great artist a song runs thin and ones job becomes to find another great song to sing untill that one runs dry
WHAT I BELIEVE MAYA ANGELOU IS SAYING IS INDEED DEEPER THAN I CAN GRASP BUT I THINK WHAT SHE IS BASICALLY SAYING IS THAT SOMETIMES THINGS DO NOT NEED AN ANSWER. THAT THEY SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.....PERHAPS IN A SONG.
